Shiney Ahuja : The Unfortunate Rising Hero | Shiney Ahuja Biography | Case | Controversy

Shiney Ahuja who was accused of sexual misconduct with his maid in 2009 has finally got some relief in the case. According to reports, the actor has now got permission from Bombay High Court to renew his passport for 10 years. After this order, he can now travel abroad. Shiney was convicted in the sexual assault case back in 2011 and is presently on bail. After being sentenced to seven years in prison, he had appealed against the conviction imposed by a trial court. The ‘Gangster’ actor was later granted bail on the condition that he cannot leave India without the court’s permission. Justice Amit Borkar observed that Shiney has so far adhered to the stipulations imposed on him during his bail release and granted permission for the passport renewal. As for his case, the actor’s domestic help had lodged a complaint in June 2009 alleging that he raped her at his house in Mumbai. Although the victim had retracted her statements and withdrawn evidence in 2011, the court relied on her earlier statements as well as medical reports. The incident saw Shiney Ahuja’s exit from the film industry. He was last seen in the film ‘Welcome Back’ in 2015 wherein he played the role of Naseeruddin Shah’s son.For more news and updates, stay tuned to Lawminds.
